It’s no secret the Nashville Predators are seeking more offensive firepower in the 2025 NHL draft.

The No. 5 overall pick will likely net them the best offensive talent the team has ever drafted. But since we are talking about the Predators here, don’t be surprised if the team uses one or both of its other first-rounders on defense.

Since the Predators likely won’t be looking for defenders until the early 20s, Matthew Schaefer will definitely be gone, and it’s likely that Kashawn Aitcheson and Jackson Smith will be as well.

Below are five defensemen the Predators should consider with one or both the No. 23 and 26 overall picks.
